Transport of loaded moving floor trailers via rail

Knapen Trailers has carried out a series of test for the transport of loaded moving floor trailers by train. For this so-called Huckepack system, Knapen Trailers has equipped its moving floor trailers with four grip points so that the trailer can be hoisted for loading. By cleverly integrating these grip points into the standard trailer construction this system perfectly matches the philosophy of Knapen Trailers: Super-strong and ultra-light. The minimum contortion of the Knapen Trailers’ chassis is remarkable: substantially less than other trailers with fixed side walls. From now on, this Huckepack option will be available on various models from Knapen Trailers. And it goes without saying – with the right quality marks and the right paperwork. This optional feature will allow users to utilise the capacity of their vehicles more flexibly. These trailers are also of course constructed in line with the Knapen philosophy of producing the highest quality in order to minimise life cycle costs for transporters. The Photo shows an over-loaded moving floor trailer during one of the tests performed in cooperation with TÜV Nord, Kombiverkehr and DB Schenker.
